We are very excited to have Theater J friend Charlie Varon (who performed his show The People’s Violin here in 2001) back again to perform RABBI SAM. The show is the third in our incubator series. We looked at half of it last year with our audience squashed into the library and are glad to get a fuller deeper look at the project.
Here is how we are describing the show:
Rabbi Sam is the visionary leader who will bring American Judaism into the 21st century.
Or he’s completely out of his mind.
In “Rabbi Sam,” Charlie plays a dozen characters, including the rabbi and the synagogue’s eight contentious board members.
A play for Jews, Gentiles, and anyone who’s ever attended a meeting.
Tickets are $15 and can be bought by clicking here or calling (202) 777-3210 (free to Incubator Series Pass Holders).
